The Bernd Rode
Award (BRA) is granted by the ASEAN-European Academic University Network (ASEA-UNINET) to outstanding joint scientific
and higher education collaborations between its Austrian and South-East Asian or Pakistani member universities . Named after
Bernd Michael Rode, an eminent Austrian researcher and founder of ASEAUNINET, the aim of the Award is to
make extraordinary research achievements or contributions within the framework of ASEA-UNINET visible.
- The
Award is granted in the following two categories:
1. Junior Researcher: no doctoral degree required – up to 2 awardees
2. Senior Researcher: applicants over a period of 10 years after completion of their PhD studies (in the arts/music field
equivalent permitted) – up to 1 awardee - Target country: All ASEA-UNINET member countries
- Eligibility requirements:
Eligible for application are outstanding achievements or contributions in science or art as well as music that arise from
ASEA-UNINET collaborations (e.g. a joint research/art/music project, a research/teaching stay, a scholarship, etc.), regardless
of when they were carried out. The prospective awardee must be affiliated to an ASEA-UNINET member university.
- Nomination
by an academic member (at least at Postdoc level) of an ASEA-UNINET member university (the nominator), a self-nomination is
not allowed. The nomination must be supported by a second person (the endorser). The endorser does not necessarily have to
come from an ASEA-UNINET member university.
