Venice Biennale 2024: Positions by professor Bouchra Khalili and two Angewandte graduates

15. March 2024

We are pleased to announce that artist and professor Bouchra Khalili will participate in the main exhibition Stranieri Ovunque - Foreigners Everywhere of this year's art festival at the invitation of Venice Biennale curator Adriano Pedrosa. Bouchra Khalili is head of the Artistic Strategies department at the Institute for Art and Society at the University of Applied Arts Vienna.

The artist Greta Schödl, who lives and works in Bologna and whose work is also presented as a solo position in the main exhibition, has an "Angewandte past": she successfully completed her studies in 1953. At the end of the 1950s, she moved to Italy, where she still lives and works. The now 94-year-old has already been represented once at the Venice Biennale: in the Italian pavilion in 1978.

Oliver Ressler's work will be shown together with the Australian artist and filmmaker Zanny Begg as part of Marco Scotini' s contribution to the Disobedience Archive in Venice. Oliver Ressler's traces at the Angewandte go back to 1995, when he completed his studies in painting and graphics.
