Strategies of Disappearance
TransArts
curated
by Nita Tandon
Over the past few semesters, the recurrent topic in Nita Tandon’s drawing seminar Linear and Nonlinear
Strategies has been that of absence. Students delved into the idea of vanishing, both physically and metaphorically, employing
the different strategies individuals employ to disappear from sight, memory or existence.
The works challenge the viewer to reflect on the themes of impermanence, identity and the
boundaries between presence and absence, using various forms and methods of drawing.
