In a time of converging crises, how can design education
cultivate hope? Led by Anab Jain, the Department of Design Investigations at the University of Applied Arts Vienna offers
a compelling approach: reclaiming the power of the question. Young designers learn to design questions that open up possibility;
exploring themes like ecological reciprocity and technological transformation through speculative practice, material making,
and worldbuilding. Structured around key reflective questions, and featuring diverse projects alongside contributions from
leading design educators and thinkers, this book demonstrates how design education can cultivate imagination, criticality,
and joy.
