Joshibi University of Art and Design was founded in 1900 as an art education
school with the founding
principles of “To empower the self-reliance of women through the arts,” “To improve the social
status of women,”
“To produce women teachers in the arts.” (…) JOSHIBI AIR is designed to support the research and expressive
activities of women artists during their residency, and it also provides opportunities to interact with individuals both on
and off campus and to present the results of the residency period, leading to learning for current students, expanding opportunities
for women artists, promote career development for current students, and support networking.

graduates (graduated by the time of residency) and faculty members at the University of Applied Arts Vienna who work with
textiles or glass

EUR 2.600 (including daily diet, material allowance, travel allowance), studio and living space are provided
