Stadträume uses Viennese squares to tell
of the social power of urban space, of mechanisms of inclusion and exclusion, of the specific history of a place and of the
people who move around there. Readers can (re)discover the familiar and unfamiliar urban spaces of Asperner Heldenplatz, Schuhmeierplatz,
Hannah-Arendt-Platz, Zwidemu/Maria-Theresien-Platz, and Elterleinplatz.
The volume scrutinizes the phenomenon
of the city based on the characteristics of individual squares and reflects on them in relation to social, political, societal,
and architectural structures.
With contributions by Paul Vincent Buschnegg, Anna Ebert, Marius Linus Thomas Fischer,
