ZHdK International Day

Reflections around decolonisation based on concrete examples in artistic disciplines

The fifth edition of the “ZHdK International Day” is dedicated to the topic of decolonisation. This complex topic will be brought into focus by reflections and concrete examples from the artistic disciplines represented at ZHdK. The aim is to ponder the role of a higher arts education institution like ZHdK by challenging colonial legacies and disrupting ways of viewing, listening, thinking and creating.
After keynotes by Michaela Oberhofer, Curator for Africa and Oceania, as well as Head of Collection Services at Rietberg Museum Zurich, and Imani Sanga, Professor of Music in the Department of Creative Arts at the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, the topic will be explored in small groups based on projects and initiatives within and outside ZHdK.

The event will be followed by a networking apéro.
